IWC c.89 ref.810

IWC c.89 ref.810

IWC is a legend of a brand. Their pedigree speaks for itself. And back in the and 60's the developed some of the greatest movements of all time, including the legendary caliber 89 (which actually came to market in 1946!).

Found in many models such as the 666 Ingenieur, it really was the standard bearer. A vintage Ingenieur in good condition these days will fetch top dollar. To that end, references such as this 810 have become extremely attractive.

From the early 70's, this particular example is all original, with the correct-for-the-era buckle and a new alligator strap.

It has a beautiful dial with the applied IWC logo, the fish crown, and an absolute perfect size in the 35mm to 36mm range. Furthermore, the proportions of this watch are beautiful. The c.89 is only 4.25 tall, so once cased, the 810 sits flat on the wrist, but with its muscular mid-century modern styled lugs, its not only a fantastic daily wearer, it's also a watch that will last a lifetime and look good in the process.

The c.89 has a power reserve of over 40 hours, sweeping seconds hand, 17 jewels, runs at 18,000 vph and hacks!

Given the status of the current vintage market for mechanical watches, you'd be heard pressed to find a better watch at this price.
